Sharmin Akter, opening batter of Bangladesh women’s national team has scored a hundred against the USA in the Women’s world cup qualifier match at Harare.
Sharmin’s century helped Bangladesh to put a massive total of 322-5 in 50 overs, which is their highest team total so far.
She is the first centurion in women’s cricket for Bangladesh in a List
A one-day match, now holds the record for highest individual innings as Sharmin played an unbeaten knock of 130 runs from 141 balls where she hit 11 fours.
The match against the USA is not considered as a One Day International as the USA does not hold an ODI status.
Fargana Haque also scored a half-century in the match, she was out for 67 runs.
Captain Nigar Sultana scored 33 runs and Murshida Khatun scored 47 runs.
In reply, the USA were all out for 53 runs in 30.3 overs and Bangladesh secured a victory by 269 runs.
Rumana Ahmed, Fahima Khatun and Salma Khatun; all took two wickets each.
Jahanara Alom also picked one wicket.
This is Bangladesh women’s team’s second victory in the ICC Women’s World Cup qualifier, in the previous match, they beat Pakistan which gained some cricketers a boost in the rankings table.
