BKSP tops the charts for Tigers

Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan has been Bangladesh’s biggest source of cricketing talent for some time now and it shows in the record books.

Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim- two of Bangladesh cricket’s biggest assets came through the ranks at BKSP.

On Friday, two BKSP graduates, Mushfiq and Liton Das put together an unbeaten 204-run stand on the first day of their first Test against Pakistan, which is till now the 11th highest partnership in Tests for Bangladesh.

Among the first ten, seven feature at least one BKSP graduate.

The highest partnership in Tests for Bangladesh is the 359-run stand against New Zealand in 2017 between Shakib and Mushfiq, two of BKSP’s most esteemed graduates.

The second-highest partnership between two BKSP graduates is between Mushfiq and Mominul Haque. The pair put together 266 against Zimbabwe in 2018, Bangladesh’s fourth-highest partnership in Tests.

Mushfiq and Mominul also have two more double century stands between them. One came against Sri Lanka in 2018, and the other against Zimbabwe in 2020.

Among the top 10 partnerships for Bangladesh in Tests, Mushfiq features the most as he played a hand in five of them. Besides him, another BKSP graduate, Bangladesh Test skipper Mominul, features four times. Besides them, Soumya Sarkar features once.

Besides the BKSP graduates, Imrul Kayes features the most for Bangladesh in the top chart as he has been involved in three of Bangladesh’s best partnerships. Also, Tamim Iqbal has been involved in two of Bangladesh’s highest partnerships.
