Shakib-Taskin back, Naim called up

Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed have been included in the Bangladesh squad for the second Test of their two-match Test series against Pakistan after receiving the medical green light, whereas Mohammad Naim received his first call-up to the Test side.

Taskin had injured his right hand during the third Twenty20 international between Bangladesh and Pakistan and was subsequently left out of the first Test in Chattogram.

Shakib, on the other hand, injured his hamstring during the T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman. He was initially called up for the first Test but failed to pass his medicals to play the match.

Both have now been deemed fit and will join the side for the second Test.

Naim, who has been a regular face for Bangladesh in T20Is, is a surprise choice as the batsman has been considered as a future for the shorter formats. He has only played six first-class matches, scoring only 183 runs at an average of 16.63.

The national team selectors did not axe anyone from the first Test, leading to the squad for the second Test having 21 members.

Bangladesh lost the first Test by eight wickets and will be hoping to bounce back in the second Test in Dhaka, starting on December 4.
