Bangladesh national cricket team reached New Zealand on Friday ahead of their two-match Test series in January.
Bangladesh first reached Auckland before travelling to Christchurch, where they will quarantine for seven days at the Managed Isolation facility.
In a video provided by the Bangladesh Cricket Board, pacer Taskin Ahmed said that it is very tough to quarantine, but they are ready to do anything for the country.
“We have reached New Zealand from Dhaka. The flight was very long. Now, we will start our quarantine. We have all reached here safely. We will have to quarantine for seven days. It is a tough job, but we are ready to do anything for the country. We ask everyone to pray for us so that we can do our best and play good cricket,” Taskin said.
Bangladesh have travelled to New Zealand after suffering two series defeats at home to Pakistan. First, the Tigers lost the Twenty20 internationals series 3-0 before losing the Test series 2-0.
Bangladesh had travelled to New Zealand earlier this year for three T20Is and one-day internationals each. They failed to win any of their matches as they lost both series 3-0.
Bangladesh have gone to New Zealand without the likes of Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan. Tamim is still recovering from his injury, whereas Shakib opted out of the series due to a family emergency.
