Akram Khan steps down

Akram Khan, the chairman of Cricket Operations at the Bangladesh Cricket Board has stepped down from his post sitting personal reasons.

The former captain told the reporters on Tuesday that he is stepping down from his post due to family reasons,

“In our family, we have decided that I am not staying in this post anymore. I have worked in the cricket operations department for eight years, throughout this period, I received ample support from Nazmul Hasan, the BCB president, so I will finalize my decision after consulting him”, Akram told the reporters at his own residence on Tuesday.

In 2014, Akram Khan took charge of the cricket operations department for the first time, which involves the national team.

Akram is one of the two BCB councillors from Chattogram Division who was elected a BCB director uncontested in the last election of the board directors.

Akram will remain as a board director for the current tenure but he said that he is unwilling to carry on the role of the chairman of cricket operations.
