Defending champs Kings in action on opening day

The 2021 Federation Cup will start on Saturday at the Bir Shrestha Shahid Sipahi Mostofa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka with the match between Bashundhara Kings and Mohammedan Sporting Club.

The tournament’s logo was unveiled at a press conference at the Bangladesh Football Federation office in Dhaka on Thursday. The groups were also seeded as 12 teams were split into four groups.

Defending Champions Bashundhara Kings are in Group A with Mohammedan and Swadhinata Krira Shangha. In group B, Dhaka Abahani Ltd are accompanied by Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and Uttar Baridhara. Saif Sporting Club, Chittagong Abahani Ltd, and Bangladesh Police FC were placed in group C. In Group D, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd were seeded with Rahamatganj MFS and Bangladesh Muktijoddha SKC.

The group stage matches will continue until December 30. The top two teams from each group will go through to the quarter-finals, which will take place on January 1 and 2.

The semi-finals will be held on January 5 before the final on January 8.
