Walton Central Zone put up 481 on the board on the second day of their second match of the ongoing Bangladesh Cricket League at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Monday, courtesy of hundreds from Soumya Sarkar and Shuvagata Hom.
In reply, BCB South Zone ended the day on 92-1, with Pinak Ghosh and Amite Hasan staying unbeaten.
Central Zone’s Soumya, who had reached three figures on the first day, was dismissed for 150. But Skipper Shuvagata scored a brilliant 152, helping his team to a mammoth total.
Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain picked up five wickets for South Zone.
In reply, South Zone lost opener Anamul Haque early, but Pinak and Amite ensured they did not lose any more wickets.
In the other match, BCB North Zone were bowled out for 310, courtesy of a five-wicket haul from Islami Bank East Zone’s Irfan Hossain. Tanzid Hasan top-scored with 91.– TBP
