fBangladesh Test team opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy is highly unlikely to bat in the second innings as the batsman suffered an injury during fielding which resulted in three stitches at the base of his fingers.
Physio of the Bangladesh team Bayjedul Islam told the media that Joy needed stitches on the area between the third and fourth fingers of his right hand,
“Joy got injured while fielded, he needed three stitches on the area between his third and fourth fingers of the right hand, the local physician gave the stitches. Now he has to be under observation for seven to 10 days”, he said from New Zealand.
Bayzid also said that the injury could rule him out from the second Test of the series and his chances for batting again in the second innings at Bay Oval is highly unlikely,
“We gave him all the needed treatment and medicine. Now we will undergo conservative management”, he added. – TBP
