Afghanistan Leg Spinner Rashid Khan who was playing his last game in this season’s Big Bash for Adelaide Strikers has put on a show in his 300th T20, taking a record 6-17 against the Brisbane Heat.
Khan dismissed Heat batters Sam Heazlett (0) and Jake Lehmann (0) in consecutive deliveries in his second over on his way to match-winning figures of 6-17 as the Heat were bowled out for 90 in 15 overs on Wednesday.
It was Rashid's final appearance of the season, with the leg-spinner soon departing for international duty.
The 23-year-old's double strike was part of a team hat-trick with Lachlan Pfeffer (23 off 24) run out off the first ball of the over.
Khan then removed Heazlett and Lehmann for first-ball ducks as Brisbane went from 2-62 at the start of the ninth over to 5-62 just three deliveries later.
Khan returned to secure the third-best bowling figures in BBL history when he claimed three more wickets in his fourth and final over to wrap up the win.– TBP
