South African batsman Faf Du Plessis has arrived for his first bout in the Bangladesh Premier League, where he will be playing for Comilla Victorians.
The former Proteas skipper said on Friday that he is yet to learn any Bangla words, but is trying to savour the local foods.
“No Bangla words (yet). For now, I am trying to get to the local foods. I had a nice biriyani yesterday. I see the guys making Guava with chilli and lime, it is very nice,” he told the media on Friday.
He added that his goal was to win the tournament and do it as one of the leading run-scorers.
“The first goal will be to win the tournament. The second goal is to contribute in every game as a batter. Towards the end of the competition, be up there with the leading run-scorers,” the South African said. -TBP
