Pushpa fever hits BPL

The sensation of Pushpa also hit the Bangladesh Premier League as Nazmul Islam Opu imitated Allu Arjun’s beard-rubbing to celebrate his success for Sylhet Sunrisers.

‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is a Telugu Movie that was released in some other Indian languages on the OTT platform Amazon Prime. After that, many cricketers like Ravindra Jadeja, Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner took to social media to replicate the iconic move of Pushpa, played by Allu Arjun.

Nazmul, who is a film buff also joined the popular trend as he showed the same mannerism after taking every wicket against Comilla Victorians.

The left-arm spinner previously used to do a snake-dance after taking a wicket which was later imitated by the whole team during the Nidahas Trophy in 2018.

Nazmul brought a new style of celebration by doing the “Pushpa” move in this BPL, replacing his snake dance.

He took three wickets but finally could not take his team home as Sylhet lost the match by two wickets. – TBP
