French superstar Kylian Mbappe has agreed on a deal to join Real Madrid at the end of the ongoing season, reports German newspaper BILD.

According to the German publication, Mbappe will earn 50 million Euros every year if he joins the Los Blancos next summer, after ending his contract with PSG.

This would make the 23-year-old the highest paid footballer in the planet, surpassing the likes of PSG teammates Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Real Madrid have been long-known as the preferred destination of the French international, and they tried to sign him last summer by paying 200 million Euros to PSG, but PSG refused.

Real Madrid President Florentino Perez admitted that PSG are not willing to sell the Frenchman.

“The state-owned clubs don’t sell their players. It’s a madness. Now we offer €200m for a single player and they don’t sell him. When players finish their contract it’s better,” Perez had said last summer.

Mbappe’s contract with PSG will end on the upcoming June 30, which he had initially signed after joining the Parisien side for 180 million Euros from Monaco in 2017.

PSG have tried their best to reach an agreement for the extension of Mbappe’s contract but have failed time and time again. And with the recent rumours of Mbappe earning 50 million Euros a year, which Spanish outlet Marca also confirmed, would make it impossible for PSG to strike a deal with the Frenchman.

Reports from other European sources also suggest that an agreement has been reached between Mbappe and Real, and despite having the opportunity to announce the deal as the player is currently in the last six months of his contract, both parties have refrained from doing so as Real Madrid face Mbappe’s current side PSG in the round of 16 stage of the UEFA Champions League later this month.
