BCB warns Shahzad

The Bangladesh Cricket Board warned Minister Group Dhaka’s Afghanistan recruit, Mohammad Shahzad after he was caught smoking on the playing field of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

“We did not expect anything like that from a cricketer like Mohammad Shahzad. Such incidents in the cricket field put a negative impact. He has been warned not to do so in future,” BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said.

After the match between Sylhet Sunrisers and Fortune Barisal was washed out, the following between Minister Dhaka and Comilla Victorians followed suit.

When the rain stopped for some time, the players from Dhaka and Comilla went down to see the field. It was there where Mohammad Shahzad sparked controversy as he smoked an e-cigarette from his jacket pocket.

Later, Dhaka manager Mizanur Rahman Babul and cricketer Tamim Iqbal convinced him back to the dressing room, but Shahzad looked irritated. – BSS
