Taskin ruled out

Pace bowler Taskin Ahmed, Sylhet Sunrisers’ direct signing, has been ruled out for the remainder of the BPL due to injury. He has been replaced by AKS Swadhin.

The franchise has also changed their skipper as English all-rounder Ravi Bopara has replaced Mosaddek Hossain.

Taskin has been suffering from a stiff back and has not played a match since January 29. He last played against Chattogram Challengers, giving away 53 runs in four overs. There was also a misunderstanding between Taskin and the franchise owner regarding payment issues, which was solved later.

Taskin earlier hoped to be able to play after a bit of rest and went to Sylhet with the team but could not gain the necessary fitness to play and eventually got ruled out from the tournament.

Sylhet Sunrisers Physio Joy Saha told the media, “We are not taking any risk because the Afghanistan series is coming up. He has a stiff back, his old injury also recurred.

We will not allow him to play unless he feels no pain.” – TBP
