Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain has been nominated by the International Cricket Council for the Men’s Player of the Month award for January for his performance against New Zealand earlier this year, when he picked up nine wickets in two Tests.
Alongside Ebadot, South Africa’s Keegan Petersen and South Africa Under-19 cricketer Dewald Brevis were nominated.
In the women’s category, the nominations went to Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu, West Indies’ Deandra Dottin, and England’s Heather Knight.
Ebadot registered his career-best figures of 6-46 in the second innings of the first Test against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui, setting up the Tigers’ first-ever Test win over the Blackcaps. He was awarded the player of the tournament award for his brilliant performance, which was a reverse-swing masterclass.
