Tamim Iqbal tried his luck in cricket commentary at the BPL during the match between Chattogram Challengers and Khulna Tigers at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Monday.
The left-handed opener scored 407 runs in this edition of the BPL, making him the second-highest run-scorer so far, but his team Minister Dhaka failed to reach the playoff stage as they lost five matches out of ten in the league stage.
Tamim came to SBNCS to attend a meeting with the BCB top brass, and before the meeting, he did some live commentary along with Ed Rainsford.
“I am doing live commentary for the first time in my life. I am feeling nervous like playing my first match,” he said during commentary.
After his stint, Tamim visited the press box to meet the journalists, where he said, “I came to the BCB offices for a meeting. I was asked to commentate during the Pakistan series but could not do it. Actually, I did not commentate. I was talking about my experiences and some tidbits of the game”.
Tamim also hosted a few online talk shows with some of his fellow cricketers from various countries when all cricket activities were put on hold due to the pandemic situation which became very popular.
He also said that in post-playing life, he wants to give it a shot.
“I find it very interesting. Maybe I can take it up in the future, but right now, I am not thinking about it,” said Tamim. – TBP
