Covid hits Afghan camp in Sylhet

12 members of the touring party of the Afghanistan Cricket Team were found covid-19 positive after the tests were carried out, said a cricket official from Sylhet.

The Afghanistan cricket team arrived in Bangladesh on February 13 and on the next day they moved to Sylhet for a preparation camp ahead of the three-match One-Day International series, scheduled to start from February 23 at Chattogram.

Eight cricketers and four other members of the touring party were found covid-19 positive after their RT-PCR based covid tests were done in Sylhet, said an official.

Now the covid positive personnel will be in room isolation for four days, then they will undergo second
testing.

Those who will come out covid negative will be allowed to join the rest of the team.
