Bangladesh women’s national cricket team started their training in New Zealand ahead of their first-ever Cricket World Cup on Sunday after completing their quarantine.
The team left for New Zealand on February 3 ahead of their participation in the tournament. Upon reaching New Zealand, they had to quarantine for almost two weeks before they were allowed to move outside their hotels.
They trained at the Cornwall Sports Club in Auckland on Wednesday. The team emphasised physical training rather skill training,
Earlier on Tuesday, Bangladesh player Shanjida Akhter Maghla posted photos of the players finally being out of quarantine on Instagram, with the caption, “After a long time I went out with my companions.”
Bangladesh will start their World Cup campaign on March 5 against South Africa in Dunedin. They will then take on hosts New Zealand on March 7, before their match against Pakistan on March 14.
