Bangladesh Premier League football side Saif Sporting Club will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sports against poor refereeing in the ongoing season.
Saif SC, who finished fourth last season, currently sit sixth in the league table with two wins and two losses in four matches.
In their last match against Mohammedan SC, they lost 2-0, but Saif SC believe three penalties should have been awarded to them, which were not.
A Saif SC official, seeking anonymity, said that this has been happening to them since the start of the season.
“We will appeal to the CAS against the poor refereeing we have been the victim of. In almost every match, the refereeing has been corrupt against us. We should have had three penalties in the last match but had none. It has been happening to us since the start of this season,” the official said.
He added, “The top officials of the club are asking what is the point to play if the results are determined beforehand.”
The ongoing season of the BPL has been marred with controversy. Earlier, defending Champions Bashundhara Kings said they would be appealing to the CAS after they had not been allowed to play on their home ground. Later, the Bangladesh Football Federation agreed with them, allowing Kings to play at their home ground.
