England Women’s cricket team won by 109 runs against Bangladesh in their first warm-up match in the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.
A patient half-century from Sharmin Akter took Bangladesh to 201 but that was not enough to avoid a defeat by as the target was even bigger.
England set a target of 310 runs before bowling out Bangladesh for 201 runs.
Nat Sciver came in at four and hit a century dominating the bowlers as she scored 108 off just 101 deliveries with 9 boundaries. Suraiya Azmin and Ritu Moni took two wickets each.
Sciver came back with ball and castled opener Shamima Sultana(33).She came back to pick up her second as she sent back middle order batsman Fargana Hoque for a duck. She only bowled four overs and had figures of 2-12.
Coming in at three,Sharmin Akter resilient knock of 81 runs took Bangladesh to 200 as she batted till the 50th over before being run out.
Skipper Nigar Sultana(12) and the other middle-order batters-Rumana Ahmed(12), Sobhana Mostary(14), Ritu Moni(19)- all got starts but couldn’t convert their innings in Bangladesh’s attempt to chase down those runs.
Heather Knight finished it off taking Nahida Akter’s wicket as Bangladesh’s innings halted at 201.
