Legendary South African pacer Allan Donald has been appointed as the new fast bowling coach of the Bangladesh national team, Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Friday.
The South African has been appointed until the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November and will start working from Bangladesh’s South Africa tour later this month.
“Legendary South Africa fast bowler Alan Donald has become Bangladesh Fast Bowling Coach,” BCB said in a media statement.
Donald said that he was looking forward to working with the Bangladeshi pacers.
“I am looking forward to working with the Bangladeshi fast bowlers. They are a young, talented bunch and are doing well against Afghanistan,” the South African said.
He will reunite with head coach Russell Domingo in Bangladesh as they were part of South Africa’s coaching panel in the past, and Donald said that he was looking forward to it.
“I will be working closely with Russell Domingo, who I know very well from my days with the Proteas. I know he has been working very hard with the Bangladesh team and I look forward to working with him again,” he said.
Donald previously worked as the fast bowling coach for England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, along with Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bangalore.
