Bangladesh Cricket Board revealed the list of centrally contracted cricketers on Thursday where they kept Shakib Al Hasan in all three formats.

Shakib is currently on leave from all sorts of cricket till April 30 after he said that he is not in a state to play cricket and needs a break.

Selectors put Shakib on the teams of One Day International and Test for the upcoming series against South Africa after he agreed to play in Tests as he remained unsold in the Indian Premier League auction.

BCB top brass including the president, chairman of cricket operations, and team director everyone told the media that they want to put an end to Shakib’s tantrum but finally, they agreed with Shakib’s terms.

Shakib, since his return to international cricket after serving a year-long ban, played only three Test matches so far and missed out whilst Bangladesh played nine Test matches.

He opted out of the New Zealand tour due to family reasons and also missed two Test matches against Sri Lanka for IPL.

Despite his occasional appearance in the Test team, BCB has put him again in the central contract for Test matches.

Shakib along with Musfiqur Rahim, Liton Kumar Das, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam are drafted into all three formats in the national players’ contract for the period of January to December 2022.

The total number of contracted players reduced from 24 to 21 as cricketers like Soumya Sarkar, Abu Jayed Chowdhury, Shamim Hossain, Saif Uddin, and Saif Hasan are dropped from the contract.

Yasir Ali and Mahmudul Hasan Joy are the two new faces in the list of contracted cricketers, both are in contract for Test matches.
