Defending champions Bangladesh thrashed England 46-12 in the opening fixture of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament 2022 at the Shahid Nur Hossain National Volleyball Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday.
Bangladesh dominated throughout the match, with the hosts leading 27-4 at half-time. England managed a better performance in the final half but were no match for Bangladesh.
The second edition of the Bangabandhu Cup International Kabaddi Tournament 2022, hosted by the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, was organised to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The tournament will feature eight teams divided into two groups. Bangladesh were placed in group A with England, Sri Lanka and Malaysia while runners-up of the previous edition, Kenya will play in group B with Indonesia, Iraq and Nepal. – TBP
