Ripon shines as Shinepukur, Sk Jamal, and City Club win

Shinepukur Cricket Club, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, and City Club won their respective matches in the Dhaka Premier League Division Cricket League on Sunday.

Shinepukur-Rupganj Tigers

Rupganj Tiger’s batter Fazle Mahmud’s fifty helped their ailing innings to reach 172-10. Shinepukur fast bowler Ripon Mondol picked up three wickets for 30 runs.

In reply, Raza’s 48, Sazzadul Haque’s 27, and Ripon’s 28 edged Rupganj as Shinepukur won the match in the 50th over with one wicket in hand.

Sk Jamal-Gazi Group Cricketers

Ziaur Rahman and Mrittunjoy Chowdhury starred as Sk Jamal beat Gazi Group Cricketers by nine wickets.

Ziaur picked up three wickets for 12 runs and Mrittunjoy’s three wickets helped Jamal bowl out Gazi for 156.

In reply, Jamal cruised over the line, courtesy of fifties from openers Shykat Ali and Saif Hassan, with the latter being dismissed for 52 runs.

City Club-Khelaghar

Khelaghar’s Amite Hasan scored 85 and Salman Hossain 66 to take them to 241-7.

In reply, City Club batters Zakirul Ahmed and Ashik-ul-Alam Naeem scored 72 and 74, but a flurry of wickets in the middle stages brought the match down to the wire. But Usman Khalid took them home with his unbeaten cameo of 14 runs off 11 balls.
