Naveed parts way with BCB

The head coach of Bangladesh under-19 cricket team Naveed Nawaz has submitted his resignation letter to Bangladesh Cricket Board, said a BCB official.

Naveed has been a successful age-level coach. Under his tutelage, Bangladesh won the ICC U-19 World Cup in 2020, and he was also in charge of the young Tigers who took part in the last youth World Cup this year.

A BCB official told The Business Post that Naveed has submitted his resignation letter effective from April.

“We have received a letter from him where he mentioned personal reasons for leaving the job. We don’t know where he is heading to. We have a few more months left in the contract but we are letting him go amicably,” the official said on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka Cricket recently appointed Chris Silverwood as the head coach of the national team, and Naveed is likely to join him on the coaching staff as an assistant coach. – TBP
