National cricketers sign contract

Most of the cricketers, who were offered the national contract for the year 2022, were at the Bangladesh Cricket Board office inside the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

The BCB announced the names of the cricketers on March 10, but most of the cricketers were busy playing. Finally, most of the cricketers from that list of 21, appeared at the BCB office and signed their respective contract papers, said Cricket Operations director Jalal Yunus.

Only five cricketers including Shakib Al Hasan are included in the all-format contract, though the allrounder often expresses his reluctance to play in the longer version.

Jalal said he was expecting Shakib to play the Test series against Sri Lanka, starting next month and in future, he will also play for Bangladesh when necessary.
