Bangladesh will be in the run for three gold medals at the Asia Cup Archery Stage two in Iraq on Wednesday as they will compete in three finals.
Ruman Shana will face India’s Mrinal Chauhan in the final of the men’s individual recurve event, while the men’s and women’s teams of Bangladesh will take on India in both the men’s and women’s teams recurve event final.
Ruman beat Sadikov Amirkhan of Uzbekistan by 6-0 sets in the semifinal on Monday to qualify for the final. On the way to the final, he beat Al-Rashidi Faisal of Kuwait 6-0, Magzhanov Vladislav of Kazakhstan by 6-2 sets and his compatriot Hakim Ahmed Rubel by 6-2 in the quarterfinal.
On Tuesday, Bangladesh opened their medal tally in the compound events. In the men’s compound team event, Bangladesh were beaten by India 224-218 as they settled for silver.
In the mixed compound team event, the Bangladesh team managed to beat hosts Iraq 151-142 to win the bronze medal. In the compound women’s team event, the Bangladesh team beat Iraq 190-177 to seal the bronze medal.
