Bangladesh team qualified for the 2022 Asian Games Hockey by beating Sri Lanka 3-1 in their Pool B match of the nine-nation Men’s Asian Games Hockey Qualifier in Bangkok on Tuesday.
With the day’s feat, Bangladesh not only confirmed their berth in the Asian Games Hockey but also reached the semifinal of the Men’s Asian Games Field Hockey qualifier with one match to spare.
With their successive victories, Bangladesh comfortably took a solo lead in the Pool B of the qualifying round with an all-win record securing full six points from two matches.
The Asian Games, which was supposed to be in Hangzhou this year, was postponed due to Covid-19. – UNB
