Aftab to coach Atlanta Fire

Aftab Ahmed, a former Bangladesh cricketer who turned into a cricket coach, will be carrying out the role for a cricket club in the USA named Atlanta Fires.

Aftab is the head coach of the Chattogram Divisional team and was also the head coach for Legends of Rupganj, the team that came out runner up in the Dhaka Premier League last season.

Atalanta Fire is a team that competed in the USA’s inaugural Minor League Championships. Cricketers from West Indies, Rovman Powel and Darren Sammy, played for the side previously, and some of the other Caribbean cricketers are also playing.

Aftab told The Business Post that he will be leaving for the USA once the paperwork is completed.

“I was supposed to have joined by now, but a lot of paperwork is needed for the visa. So, it is taking some time,” he said. – TBP
