Rumana hits ton in WDPL

Bangladesh batter Rumana Ahmed scored a century to mark her team’s first win in their opening fixture in this year’s Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League against City Club.

Batting first at BKSP Ground-4, Mohammedan were struggling as they lost three wickets for 63 runs. Rumana came in at five and scored an unbeaten 128, hitting 18 fours and two sixes to take her team to 268-7.

She reached her fifty in 51 deliveries and completed her ton in 90. With a 53-run fourth-wicket stand, Rumana steadied the ship and then capitalised on a solid foundation as she strung up an 80-run partnership off 48 balls with Sohely.

Rumana, who was adjudged player of the match, came back with the ball and picked up one wicket as City Club folded for 153 runs. – TBP
