Australian pacer Mitchell Starc was ruled out of the third T20 of the three-match series against Sri Lanka and is in doubt to feature in the ODI series as well.
The left-arm pacer sustained a cut on his index finger in his bowling hand in the opening over of the first T20 in Colombo on Tuesday. He was however able to complete his full quota and picked up three wickets for 26 runs.
Starc required six stitches on his left index finger and now is unlikely to play in the ODI series. Fast-bowler Jhye Richardson, who replaced Starc in the second T20, was named as the replacement for Starc in the Australian ODI squad.
Richardson scalped three wickets for 26 runs in Austalia’s three-wicket victory in the second T20. Australia lead the series 2-0 and will look for a clean sweep in the penultimate match on Saturday. – TBP
