Bangladesh Cricket Board officials are in constant communication with the family members of the national team players from Sylhet, where massive floods created a humanitarian crisis.
A number of cricketers from Sylhet region are representing Bangladesh at this moment in the West Indies. Pacers Khaled Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Rezaur Rahman Raja are in the Test team, Nasum Ahmed will appear in Twenty20 format.
Chief Executive Officer of the BCB Nizamuddin Chowdhury told the reporters on Sunday that they are in constant communication with the family members of these cricketers through the BCB director from Sylhet, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel.
“In our national team, we have few players from Sylhet who are now outside the country. We were told to communicate with their family members. We are working on that, our concern board director is keeping close contact with them”, said Nizamuddin on Sunday.
BCB is concerned about the humanitarian crisis and ready to help.
“ We always try to help the victims in such disaster situations. The BCB president has already instructed us to find ways to help, we are working on it”, added the CEO.
The skill camp of the High-Performance Unit of the BCB which was taking place in Sylhet is already postponed and all the cricketers are back in the capital, HP manager Jamal Babu confirmed to The Business Post.
