Mithali Raj biopic trailer out

The trailer of Taapse Pannu’s film, Shabash Mithu, which centers former Indian Women’s team captain Mithali Raj was released on Monday.

The film, which has been directed by Srijit Mukherji is based on the life of Mithali and portrays her transition from being a young Tamil girl to leading India in World Cups.

It also highlights the struggles and obstacles that women cricketers face in their path to pursue cricket as a career.

The trailer included a scene in which the Women’s team was given jerseys that had the names of male cricketers; an incident that Mithali raised her voice against.

Mithali shared the trailer on Instagram and wrote, “One game, One nation, One ambition... My Dream!Grateful to the team and excited to share my story with you all!”

‘Shabash Mithu’ is expected to hit the cinemas on July 15. – TBP
