Former West Indies batsman Chris Gayle will be the ambassador for the new 60-ball franchise tournament ‘The 6ixty’, which will be arranged by the Cricket West Indies alongside the CPL.
The tournament will run from August 24 to 28, and will have a different set of rules than the general 10-over T10. Each batting team will have six wickets, batting teams can get a floating third powerplay if they hit two sixes in the initial two-over powerplay, teams will switch bowling sides after five overs instead of every over.
CPL CEO Pete Russell said that their plan was to arrange the tournament four times a year.
