Kings on brink of third straight title

Defending Bangladesh Premier League champions are on the cusp of clinching their third consecutive title ahead of their encounter against Saif Sporting Club today. Kings are on 48 points after 19 round of games, while Abahani Ltd stand second with 41.

Abahani kept their title bid alive by thrashing relegation favourites Swadhinata Krira Shangha 4-1 on Thursday but Kings have the upper hand as they can be crowned champions if they win either of their last three matches.

Abahani will take on Sheikh Jamal on matchday 20 today. Kings won the 2018-19, and the 2020-21 seasons, with the 2019-20 season being canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. – TBP
