Chattogram Abahani edged Bangladesh Police FC, courtesy of Nigerian striker Peter Ebimobowei’s brace and winger Candy Augustine’s goal in their 3-2 win in the Bangladesh Premier League on Monday.
On Sunday’s game, Police’s Ivorian striker Cristian Kouakou broke the deadlock in the 10th minute but Ebimobowei responded by scoring his first in the 29th minute.
It was all even at half-time but Chattogram Abahani doubled their lead soon after the restart. Augustine netted one in the 49th minute before Ebomobowei scored his second in the 61st minute to make it 3-1.
Abahani’s midfielder Sohel Rana was shown a red card in the 77th minute following a mistimed challenge inside the box.
Police’s Anwar Sharifi converted the penalty and made it 3-2 but they too were reduced to 10 men after Kouakou was sent off in the 77th minute. They failed to convert any more chances as it ended 3-2 concluding their season. – TBP
