Bangladesh A in danger after day 2

Bangladesh A are in a spot of bother as they were bowled out for only 167 on day two of the first four-day match against West Indies A and the hosts managed to score 165-3 at the Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium in Saint Lucia today.

West Indies A skipper Joshua De Silva and Tevin Imlach were unbeaten on 14 and 23 respectively at stumps.

Bangladesh A started the day on 135-6, with skipper Mohammad Mithun and Nayeem Hasan in the middle. Mithun top-scored with 50, and Nayeem managed 27.

West Indies A’s Marquino Mindley picked up a fifer, while Justin Greaves scalped three.

In reply, opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul scored 48 runs before being run out. Rejaur Rahman castled Jeremy Solozano, who scored 32, and Nayeem Hasan sent back Keacy Carty for 37.

Mithun said that the condition in Saint Lucia was difficult for them, but acknowledged that the batsmen made some silly mistakes.

“The condition was difficult for us. There was a lot more bounce on offer than normal. So, our batsmen had a challenge, but at the same time, they couldn’t do as much as they should’ve,” he said.
