Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain is not worried about the heat in UAE, where the Asia Cup will start on August 27.
The last edition of the Asia Cup was hosted in UAE in 2018, and several Bangladesh players suffered due to the high temperatures in the country.
But Ebadot, who was called up for Twenty20 Internationals for the first time in the Asia Cup squad, said the heat was not worrying him as it is hot in Bangladesh too.
“The heat is not an excuse, it’s also hot in our country. The heat doesn’t seem like a big matter to me,” he told the media on Tuesday.
Ebadot made his One-Day International debut against Zimbabwe in the third and final match of the series, where he picked up two wickets. He is a regular for Bangladesh in red-ball cricket and has been impressing there regularly.
The right-handed pacer believes he would need to use his smarts in the 20-over format.
“T20 is the shortest format. The adjustment I need is to use my smarts as a bowler as there will be good wickets, and the batsmen will be aggressive. To me, the main thing is to bowl with a plan,” he said.
Bangladesh have won just two out of their eight T20Is in 2022, but Ebadot believes they are not bad in this format.
“Just because we are not playing well as a unit doesn’t mean we can’t play T20Is. We will become a good team in the near future,” Ebadot hoped.
