Hong Kong win first match in Asia Cup 2022 qualifiers

Hong Kong national cricket team won their first match by eight runs against Singapore in the Asia Cup 2022 qualifiers at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground Oman Cricket in Oman on Friday.

After being put into bat, Hong Kong posted 148-9 on the board.

Opener Yasim Murtaza chewed up 28 balls for his 26 runs, and middle-order batsman Kinchit Shah top-scored with 34 runs off 32 balls, but the lower-order batsmen Zeeshan Ali and Arshad Mahmud made up for the slow start as they scored 20 off 15 balls and 27 runs off 14 deliveries to get their team to 148. Singapore’s skipper Amjad Mahboob, pacer Janak Prakash, and off-spinner Akshay Puri picked up two wickets each.

In reply, Singapore were restricted to 140. Prakash top-scored with 31 runs off 32 deliveries. – TBP
