Pakistan’s legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram on Tuesday said that it was too early to compare Babar Azam with India’s Virat Kohli.
The former pacer believes that though Babar is en route to becoming one the greats of the game, he still has a long way to go to reach Virat’s stature in world cricket.
“Babar has been very consistent because he has got the right technique. He is very hungry and very fit. He is still a young captain but is learning very fast. However, comparisons with Virat it is too early,” he said.
“Babar is on the right track to be where Virat Kohli is but to compare him with him at this stage is too early. But he is absolutely on the right track to be one of the modern greats,” he added.
India faces Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE on August 30, the first time that the archrivals will meet since their encounter in last year’s T20I World Cup, where Pakistan got the better of their counterparts.
