Bangladesh Cricket Board High-Performance team batsman Shamim Hossain smashed a 150 on the final day of their four-day match against Bangladesh Tigers as the match was drawn at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna on Monday.
Bangladesh Tigers scored 33-3 chasing a target of 237 on the final day as the match was drawn.
Earlier in the match, HP were bowled out for 158 in the first innings after being put into bat. Bangladesh Tigers responded with 237 as they took a 79-run lead.
In the third innings, HP managed to post 315, courtesy of Shamim’s 150 off 172 balls, which included 15 fours and six sixes. The left-hander steadied the HP ship as he stitched up a 177-run partnership for the sixth wicket with skipper Akbar Ali after they were reduced to 5-96. Akbar scored 67 runs off 126 balls as he hit three fours and three sixes before being dismissed by left-arm pacer Abu Hider Rony, while his partner, Shamim fell to the left-arm spin of Nazmul Islam.
Abu Hider scalped four wickets for 49 runs, while spinners Nahidul Islam and Nazmul picked up two wickets each.
In reply, Bangladesh Tigers managed 33-3 before stumps on day four.
