Tigers to camp overseas

Bangladesh Cricket Board is exploring options to carry out a camp under technical consultant Sridharan Sriram overseas ahead of the tri-series in New Zealand in October, BCB President Nazmul Hassan told the media on Tuesday.

Due to inclement weather, the three-day intensive camp at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium was cut short. The first day of the three-day camp on Monday was interrupted due to rain, and the second day was called off
completely.

“We were supposed to do the camp here but so far, we haven’t been able to do so. They couldn’t carry out their plans and it doesn’t look like they would be able to do so. Our technical consultant is still yet to familiarise himself with a lot of players. He still hasn’t seen all the players and how they play. It would’ve been easier for him to get an idea about the combination of the team if he could see the players in practice but he hasn’t been able to do it here due to the weather,” Hassan said.

“They want to practice somewhere else for three-four days. We have the World Cup and before that the tri-nation series. We are looking at alternatives. We have decided to explore a different venue to conduct these practice sessions. It could’ve been in Dhaka or Rajshahi but our weather is not allowing us to do so,” he added.
