Shakib reclaims T20 all-rounder crown

Shakib Al Hasan leapfrogged Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi to become the top-ranked all-rounder in ICC’s Twenty20 Internationals rankings again.

Shakib currently sits top with 248 rating points, with Nabi at second with 246.

In the all-rounder rankings, Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga saw a big jump after his player of the tournament award at the Asia Cup as he moved up seven steps to fourth.

His compatriot Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who scored a match-winning 71 in the Asia Cup final, moved up 34 steps in the batting rankings to a career-best 34th place. Asia Cup runners-up Pakistan’s players were also on the rise. Pacer Haris Rauf moved up nine places to 25th. Mohammad Nawaz has progressed seven places to 34th and Mohammad Hasnain has gained 14 places to reach 96th in the latest update.

India’s Virat Kohli, who was the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament, climbed 14 places to reach 15th after his brilliant unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan.

In the ODI rankings, Shakib maintained his place at the top of the all-rounder rankings. Tamim Iqbal dropped down a step in the batting rankings to 16th, while Mushfiqur Rahim moved up two steps to 19th. Liton Das also climbed up one place to 29th.

Australia’s Steve Smith moved up 13 steps to get back into the top 10 after his fifty and century against New Zealand.

In the ODI bowling rankings, Mehidy Hasan Miraz climbed two steps to move up to seventh. Shakib maintained his position at 16th, while Taskin dropped down a step to 42nd.

Australian duo Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa both moved up three steps as Starc reached ninth and Zampa 15th.
