Bangladesh legends lose to NZ in rain-hit match

Bangladesh legends lost to New Zealand legends by eight wickets in their match in the Road Safety World Series at Indore.

The match, due to rain, was reduced to 11 overs per side.

Batting first, Bangladesh legends put 98-3 on board, which New Zealand chased down easily with nine balls in hand.

Bangladesh legends have now lost both of the matches they have played in this tournament.

Batting first, Bangladesh had a horrid start as they lost both their openers within the second over. Nazimuddin fell to Kyle Mills for a duck, and Mehrab Hossain Aupi was out for one to Hamish Bennett.

Things got worse as Aftab Ahmed was gone in the next over to Mills for 13 off 9 deliveries, hitting one four and a six.

But they did not lose any more wickets in the remainder of their innings as Alok Kapali and Dhiman Ghosh put together 83 for the fourth wicket.

Kapali scored 37 runs off 21 deliveries, hitting three fours and two sixes, while Dhiman scored 41 off 32 deliveries, including three fours and a six.

Defending 99, Bangladesh had a good start as Abdur Razzak got rid of Anton Devcich (2) early in the innings, but a 41-run stand between Jamie How and Dean Brownlie took the game away from Bangladesh.

How was dismissed by Kapali for 26 off 17 deliveries in the sixth over, but Ross Taylor came in and guided the team home with an unbeaten 30 off 17 balls. Brownlie stayed unbeaten on 31.
