Bangladesh left-arm spinner Sanjida Akter Meghla had a good run in the recently-concluded ICC Women’s T20 2023 Qualifiers in UAE, where Bangladesh finished as unbeaten Champions, as she picked up eight wickets in five matches.
And her performances were rewarded as she climbed up 13 steps in the ICC Women’s T20I rankings to reach 66th, with 439 points.
Batter Fargana Hoque, who was initially ruled out of the tournament due to Covid-19 but later came back and played a match-winning knock of 61 runs in the final against Ireland, moved up seven steps to reach 46th.
In the all-rounder rankings, Salma Khatun kept her place at eighth but she dropped down a step in the bowling rankings to 13th.
Among the others, skipper Nigar Sultana Joty dropped a couple of steps to 26th, while Murshida Khatun dropped three steps to 36th.
In the bowling rankings, Nahida Akter kept her spot at 32nd, while Rumana Ahmed climbed up four steps to 56th. Rumana also broke through among the top 20 all-rounders of the format after she picked up three wickets and scored 60 runs in three innings.
