Shakib’s Guyana knocked out

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan’s side Guyana Amazon Warriors missed out on a spot in the final of the Caribbean Premier League as Jamaica Tallawahs beat them by 37 runs in the second qualifier.

Shakib had a day to forget on the field as he went for 30 in three overs with the ball, and then was out for only five from six deliveries.

Batting first, Jamaica put on 226—4 courtesy of an unbeaten 109 off 52 balls from Shamarh Brooks. In reply, Keemo Paul scored 56 for Guyana, but nobody else could make it big as they crashed out.

Guyana qualified for the playoffs as second on the points table, but were out after losing two consecutive games. – TBP
