India thrash Thailand

India national women’s team thrashed Thailand by nine wickets in the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 in Sylhet on Monday.

Batting first, Thailand could only muster 37 as Sneh Rana picked up three wickets. In reply, India lost opener Shafali Verma but took only six overs to chase down the total.

Rana was adjudged the player of the match.

India skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to field first, and their bowlers were ruthless to prove their skipper right.

Only Nannapat Koncharoenkai (12) from Thailand managed to reach double figures as most of their batters just got in and went back throughout the innings.

Besides Rana’s three wickets, Deepti Sharma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked up two wickets each, while Meghna Singh picked up one. The other two wickets were run outs.

In reply, India lost Shafali (8) in the third over.

From there, Sabbhineni Meghana and Pooja Vastrakar took them home as the pair added 23 runs in 19 balls. Meghana stayed unbeaten on 20, while Pooja scored 12.
