Jamal joins Sheikh Russel

Bangladesh football team captain Jamal Bhuiyan penned a deal with Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra for the 2022-23 season after spending five years at Saif Sporting Club. The 32-year old confirmed the move, informing that the contract was signed last month.

The new club expect big things from the Danish-born midfielder. “He was our target before. So, we signed him as soon as the transfer window opened. The contract is for one season. He is national team captain. We put big hopes on him,” Sheikh Russel’s sporting director Saleh Jaman Selim said. The contract fee has not been officially revealed but it was learned that the amount is around Tk90 lakhs.

After spending his initial career in Danish lower-tier league, Jamal began his journey in Bangladesh with Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited in 2014.
