Both USA and Wales are returning to the World Cup, but the gap between appearances makes the tie intriguing.
USA last played in Brazil, eight years back, while the wait has been of 64 years since 1958.
A team inspired by their skipper Gareth Bale, Wales have some talent in hand as they face the golden generation of USA.
They will depend on Ben Davies and Neco Williams for defending their wide areas, and while their central defence is worrying, their midfield of Aaron Ramsey, Joe Allen, and Harry Wilson has the ability to control the middle.
In attack, Bale will be helped by the lightning-fast Daniel James, along with Kieffer Moore in the middle.
Their manager Robert Page is the manager to bring them back to the World Cup, and thus received affluent praise from his players.
“He’s (Page) done an incredible job coming in in difficult circumstances. Everyone has a great relationship with him. We have that good mixture where we can have a bit of fun but when we need to work, we work hard,” Bale said.
On the other hand, they face USA’s probable golden generation, filled with talents in Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna, Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, and Brendan Aaronson.
While many have said that this World Cup will just be a preparation for the Americans to make it big next time at home, in a group with Iran and Wales, USA will be hoping to get through to the next round.
In order to do that, USA will be hoping to topple the Welsh in their first game, and for that, they will need all of their golden generation to shine.
