Yasir, Joy dropped from central contract

Bangladesh Cricket Board announced their list of centrally contracted players for 2023 where there were four changes as Yasir Ali Chowdhury, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Shadman Islam, and Mohammad Naim were dropped.

The newly included four players are Zakir Hasan, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Mosaddek Hossain.

Among the four dropped players, Yasir, Mahmudul, and Shadman were contracted for Tests, while Naim was contracted for T20Is.

Zakir and Khaled have been contracted for Tests, while Hasan and Mosaddek have been included in the T20Is.

In other changes, Mehidy Hasan Miraz was handed a three-format contract as he joins Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das, and Taskin Ahmed on that list. Shoriful Islam, who was contracted for all three formats last season, is no longer on the Test contract.

Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad were dropped from the T20Is contract with the former retiring and the latter dropped. Mushfiq has been contracted for ODIs and Tests, with Mahmudullah only contracted for ODIs.

Nurul Hasan Sohan has bagged a contract for Tests besides his T20I contract from last year, while Najmul Hossain Shanto was also included in the T20I contract.
